Microsoft will soon release an app offering a remote play feature that will allow users to stream Xbox One games to their iOS device, says a new report.

Don’t get too excited though, as it won’t be the full-blown xCloud service that is available to Android users. Instead, as is allowed by App Store rules, the app will allow users to stream games from their Xbox One to their iOS devices. Microsoft recently teased that it was working on such a system.
Now, The Verge reports Microsoft’s iOS streaming app is “coming soon.” The app is currently available for testing by TestFlight members, meaning it should arrive on the App Store sometime soon.
The app will feature a Remote Play ability so that users can stream content from an Xbox One to an iPhone. The app will operate similarly to Sony’s PS4 Remote Play app.
However, the new app won’t settle the ongoing feud between Apple and Microsoft over Microsoft’s Cloud game streaming service, which streams games directly from Xbox servers.
App Store guidelines prohibit services that rely on streaming games from the cloud. This despite the growing popularity of live game streaming. Similar streaming services – Google Stadia and Nvidia GeForce Now – are still unavailable on iOS.
